According to a research by RO Media , Bosmic Otim tops the list of the most loved artists in northern Uganda .The number of Facebook followers, YouTube subscribers, Talkability by blogs and vlogs, video challenges of new and old music, Number of Awards won, Consistency and Performance during shows and events in the region were the criteria used by RO Media to come up with the list of the most loved Northern Uganda artist.

10.Laxzy Mover, LamwoTenth on the list is Laxzy
Mover, a versatile artist from Lamwo district but musically based in Gulu city.
Laxzy is the president of the Gulu city-based artists, a position which he
acquired because of his music experience and education background.
Laxzy Mover started his music
journey with the Malaika hit which greatly sold out in the region. Most people
knew him during his time as duo with Blamo where they recorded songs like Mind your
business, Kunu, and Lacot before their separation.
The reasons for Laxzy and Blamo duo separation is still unclear but rumours has it that it was due to fight for women and money. Blamo shifted to Australia from with little focus on music while Laxzy Movers who remained in Uganda took it so strongly and composed songs likeTete, Lukristo, Lutur Cwiny and Ani. Laxzy have 17K Facebook followers and 6K Youtube and 4K subscribers. He uses optimizes his account to promote his new song and this makes social media users on TikTok and Facebook to create videos with it.
9.Okeng Born Town, Lira
Started his music journey as an
actor and comedian with his first song titled "Weka Yoo" played in radio
stations across the region.
With talent and passion for both music and comedy, Okeng is among the most
loved and talented artists from Northern Uganda as he has 26 Facebook followers
and 3.2K YouTube subscribers. His most known songs are Ejang, Party, Charana
and recently the latest song titled "Atim" with adungu beats. Okeng
is one of the artists who pull crowds and leave them demanding for more time on
stage during shows and concerts.
A Lamogi by clan and Gulu based
artist from Amuru district, Polite Mosko is the 8th most loved artist in the region.
Polite Mosko sings many genres of music like reggae and dance but has never
tried Lakubukubu music.
He joined the music industry as an artist under Tosha Music Empire, the biggest music crew by then under the presidency of Victor Jay. Polite Mosko is known for songs like Gom kori, Dako kong pale, Obale ma pe yupe, Cok Kany and Aciice. He had the best year of his music careers in 2022 where he won the ward as the best artist in the region in the Northern Uganda Music Award. With 8K Facebook followers and 4.2K YouTube subscribers, Polite Mosko comes in the 8th position as the most loved artist in Northern Uganda.
7.Profesa Maros, Lira
A dancer, songwriter, comedian and singer from Lira city is 7th in the list of the most loved musicians in the region. Profesa Maros is a Lango by tribe and is known for songs like Abonyo Otingere, Attention, Ovacado, Cente Pe and Coo Olane. Profesa Maros have 4.2K Youtube subscribers and 48K Facebook followers.
6.Lucky Dee, Nebbi
Adii Mudong hit maker from Nebbi district is the most loved Alur artist and 6th in the list in Northern Uganda with 48K Facebook followers and 5.2K Youtube subscribers. Lucky Dee is known for his songs like Ituga Atuga, Adi Mudong and Lworo Benega, a collaboration with Pato loverboy in 2022 was an anthem for lovers.
The song talked about having
feeling for someone but inward fears to say it to your crush as a great barrier
to the start of the relationship and this worn the art of the great segment of
lovers. Lucky Dee, J.M Kennedy and Monopoly Bad Character give us annual song
wrap-ups from West-Nile.
To show off that you have a good knowledge of the pop culture of the region, you just have to mention any of those names but Lucky Dee, stands out to be the best and wins the 8th position among the best artists from Northern Uganda.
5.Pato Lover boy, Nwoya
When you want to listen to song whether with a child or alone in your comfort zone, Pato loverboy songs is the best referral. Pato Loverboy hails from Nwoya district and is the fourth loved artist in the region with 47 Facebook followers and 7K YouTube subscribers. Loverboy is a multi- talented artist who do different music genres like reggae, dancehall and Lakubukubu. Pato Loverboy is known for songs like Akem Kwene, Anyim, Ganga, Coo Falala and Wek Wii Opoo.
4.Judas Rap Knowledge, Amuru
When the late Lumix da son died on 13th July 2015 due to live failure, many fans of Hip-hop and Rap music were left in question who can perfectly replace him, God blessed Northern Uganda with Judah Rap knowledge who hails from Pabbo, Amuru district.
Judah is
4th on the list of the most loved artists with songs like Maria, Lawino, Cweyo
Coro and Mung Wa and he has 13.2K Youtube subscribers and 41k Facebook
followers.
3.Eddy Wizzy, Kitgum
Out of the many artists in
Northern Uganda, Eddy Wizzy is considered as the best with love songs like Tap
Tap, Mar ni, and It's Okay. He came into the limelight with first song titled
"Mara We" in 2015.
Eddy originates from Kitgum district and is the third most loved artists in the region with 15.4K Youtube subscribers and bluetick Facebook page with 87K followers.
2. Eezzy da Lyrical,
Gulu
Northern Uganda in the past has
given us and indeed the whole world, some gems like Opiyo Geoffrey Twongweno,
Dida Moses and Tempra Omona while to the world, it has offered World Music's
Geoffrey Oryema. Eezzyis the second most loved artist in Northern Uganda with 51K
Facebook followers and 47.6K YouTube subscribers.

After years of honing his
craft as a teenager rapping in Luganda and his native Acholi, he made his
breakthrough to the main stage in 2020 with Tumbiza Sound. The song
became a mega hit throughout Uganda during the COVID-19 lockdown. The song
caught policymakers off guard after it covertly preached against following
COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs). He was asked to re-make the song
to encourage people to religiously follow the lockdown SOPs, which he did. In
Gulu, he is the climax, after which comes a haggard blackout. Performing after
Eezzy is artistic suicide here, and that includes the Kampala-based stars.
" I have no problem
with singing for my home people; in fact it's my pride and happiness. Kindly
bring me all the 'big' artistes you know in Kampala (combined) in my city
(Gulu).
No one can outcompete me and my
fellow artistes in the region," Eezzy brags in his Facebook post.
In Gulu, you will hardly go on a
weekend run in nightclubs without hearing his songs such as Lugambo, Bitandike,
Whine fi Me, and Mar Kere. He has also won several awards as the best musician
in northern Uganda.
1. Lucky Bosmic Joyce Otim, Kitgum
There is no show in Gulu worth its salt
without either Lucky Bosmic Otim or Eezzy. Even for shows where the two artists
will not make an appearance, they make a drop via their different social media accounts
calling on netizens to attend. Lucky Bosmic Joyce Otim aka Mr. Lucan
Ojemo, Alkweda International and Lawi Awobe tops the list of the most loved
Northern Uganda's artists as he is the most blogged artist from the region.

Bosmic Otim have 21K YouTube subscribers and 71 Facebook followers. Bosmic Otim is known for songs like Kopango, Anyria Ker, I support the government and Peny otum. Bosmic Otim, 34, is barely known outside northern Uganda.
But here in the Acholi region, he is a superstar, his songs played everywhere from buses to bars. In 2006, his music became the soundtrack to peace as it returned after two decades of war between the Ugandan government and Joseph Kony’s Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA). Today, it chronicles the faltering reconstruction with songs of corruption, land, greed and inequality.
With
their enduring popularity, these artists have cemented their place as the
soundtrack of Northern Uganda, forever capturing the heart and soul of the
region's music scene.

Northern
